Dr. Vilma Çadri is a nephrologist and academic at the Medical University of Tirana, where she serves as part-time faculty in the Department of Internal Medicine and the Faculty of Medical and Technical Sciences. She is actively involved in teaching Nephrology, Immunology, and Urinalysis to undergraduate and medical students while also contributing to postgraduate training and clinical research.
Clinically, Dr. Çadri works at the Nephrology–Dialysis–Transplant Service of “Mother Teresa” University Hospital Center, providing comprehensive care to hospitalized and dialysis patients and consulting across multidisciplinary services. She is also a member of the Ministry of Health’s Working Committee for Monitoring Hemodialysis Services, ensuring adherence to national protocols and quality standards in renal care.
Her current doctoral research, conducted at the Medical University of Tirana, focuses on cognitive disorders in patients with chronic kidney disease, reflecting her broader scientific interests in dialysis adequacy, cardiovascular risk, and patient-centered outcomes.
Dr. Çadri has received advanced professional training in nephrology, kidney transplantation, ultrasonography, and peritoneal dialysis through international programs in Germany, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Turkey, and Slovenia. She is an active member of the Albanian Nephrology Association, the European Renal Association (ERA), and the International Society of Nephrology (ISN).
