Dr. Viktoria Kotseva is a nephrologist at the Clinic of Nephrology, University Hospital “St. Ivan Rilski,” Sofia, Bulgaria. She earned her MD degree from the Medical University of Sofia in 2020 after six years of comprehensive medical training in internal medicine, pharmacology, microbiology, surgery, pediatrics, gynecology, and infectious diseases.
Following her graduation, Dr. Kotseva began her professional career as a medical nurse in the Cardiosurgery Ward of the National Cardiology Hospital in Sofia, where she gained valuable experience in patient care in high-acuity settings. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked as a frontline medical nurse in the COVID zone at UMBAL “St. Ivan Rilski,” demonstrating resilience and clinical adaptability in emergency healthcare environments.
From March 2021 to May 2025, she completed her residency in Nephrology at the University Hospital “St. Ivan Rilski,” where she specialized in the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic kidney diseases, dialysis patient care, and abdominal ultrasonography. She subsequently joined the same institution as a full nephrologist.
