Dr. Božidar Vujičić is a nephrologist at the Department of Nephrology, Dialysis, and Kidney Transplantation, Clinical Hospital Centre Rijeka, and a lecturer at the School of Medicine, University of Rijeka, Croatia. With over 23 years of professional experience, he specializes in hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and uremic toxins.
He earned his PhD in 2020, completed specialization in Internal Medicine (2012) and subspecialization in Nephrology (2017). Dr. Vujičić has authored or co-authored over 30 papers indexed in SCI journals and several book chapters, including recent publications in Clinical Nephrology, Frontiers in Medicine, and Peritoneal Dialysis International.
Dr. Vujičić serves as Head of the Working Group for Peritoneal Dialysis of the Croatian Kidney Society, and as Regional Coordinator for Eastern and Central Europe in the ISN Clinical Research Program, as well as a member of the ISN Eastern and Central Europe Regional Board. He has co-authored Croatian national guidelines on anemia, mineral-bone disorders, malnutrition in CKD, and Fabry disease.
An active reviewer for international journals and organizer of numerous nephrology symposia, Dr. Vujičić is widely recognized for his contributions to advancing dialysis care and clinical nephrology in Croatia and beyond.
