Professor Dr. Damir Rebić is a leading nephrologist and specialist in internal medicine, currently serving as Head of the Clinic for Nephrology at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo and Full Professor at the Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Sarajevo.
He obtained his MD from the University of Zagreb, completed specialization in Internal Medicine (2007) and subspecialization in Nephrology (2016) in Sarajevo, and earned his PhD at the University of Zagreb in 2014. His clinical and academic work focuses on renal pathophysiology, dialysis, acute kidney injury, and cardiovascular complications in chronic kidney disease.
Professor Rebić has authored and co-authored over 60 scientific papers published in international peer-reviewed journals and contributed chapters to numerous medical books, including Clinical Pathophysiology, Chronic Kidney Disease – From Pathophysiology to Clinical Improvements, and Cardiac Remodeling: Molecular Mechanisms and Clinical Implications.
He is President of the Association of Nephrologists of Bosnia and Herzegovina and serves on the Boards of the European Renal Association (ERA), BANTAO, and the European Kidney Health Alliance (EKHA). Professor Rebić is also a member of ISN, ESOT, and ASN, and continues to play an active role in advancing nephrology research and education regionally and internationally.
