Professor Vladimir Tesař is Head of the Department of Nephrology, 1st Faculty of Medicine and General University Hospital, Charles University, Prague, and a leading expert in glomerular and autoimmune kidney diseases. He earned his MD and PhD from Charles University, became Full Professor in 1999, and holds an MBA from the Prague International Business School.
His research focuses on ANCA-associated vasculitis, lupus nephritis, IgA and membranous nephropathy, and polycystic kidney disease. Author of over 600 peer-reviewed papers in journals such as The Lancet, NEJM, and Kidney International, he has an h-index above 70.
Professor Tesař has held leadership roles in the European Renal Association (ERA) and the International Society of Nephrology (ISN), contributing to major international guidelines and serving as Chair of the ERA Immunonephrology Working Group and Chair of the ISN Central and Eastern Europe Board.
